Dr. William Spady has devoted his fifty-year career in education to expanding conventional understandings and practices regarding learning, human potential, learner empowerment, leadership development, models of education, strategic visioning, and paradigm change. He is best known across the world for his transformational work on Outcome-Based Education and continues to consult extensively on multiple continents on all of these issues. This consciousness-raising work is reflected in his dozens of published articles and nine books – the latest is called Bringing Heart and Soul to Education (2014) and is available through Amazon.com. His continuing work in the Philippines now includes several projects with the potential of transforming their educational system nationally from Kindergarten through higher education, including the licensing system professionals in 44 different fields, including medicine and law.
Bill received all his degrees from the University of Chicago, including a Ph.D. in the Sociology of Education; taught on the graduate faculties of Harvard University and the University of Toronto; and has had three doctoral dissertations written about his career and work as a transformational change agent in education. In 2001 Neale Donald Walsch asked him to lead the HeartLight Education initiative, which he did for three years. Inspired by that work, he has recently developed a Declaration of Conscious Education similar to the one developed by Humanity’s Team for Conscious Business and intends, through this call, to bring its essence and energy globally to parents and educators throughout the Humanity’s Team family.
